The Great Commission - A Personal Instruction

The Great Commission is one of the most significant passages in the Holy Bible. First, it's the last recorded personal instruction given by Jesus to His disciples. Second, it's a special calling from Jesus Christ to all His followers to take specific action while on this earth.

The Great Commission is found in the Gospel of Matthew 28:18-20

“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age’”.

Our Missionaries Overseas

Frances Swaray - Liberia

During 2016, 30 years after my call, God opened the door for me to go to Liberia for three months as a volunteer. My academic and professional life is in health, social and community development and so I found myself doing a wide range of activities from health promotion training to teaching health science in the school.

In 2017 I was invited and returned as a volunteer social and community development consultant supporting the same missions and church with a focus on establishing Trauma Healing Groups and providing leadership training for those in leadership. The biggest joy I had was to engage with both those who lived on the mission and those living in the wider community, sharing God’s love and concern for them. This was an opportunity to marry my gifts with God’s calling. However for every time I returned to Monrovia and in particular to some of the poorest disadvantaged communities my heart was stirred by the immense suffering people were enduring. During the last month I spent in Liberia God placed something in my own heart and He has continued to develop it.

In 2018 I have returned to begin a new work however with the same primary focus of Trauma Healing. But to further support people afterwards providing additional counseling when required, linking them into further opportunities of education or training. Enabling and empowering them with a variety of different skills required for parenting, leadership, social enterprise and generally building their capacity as individuals, family units and collectively as a community.

Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF)

Child Evangelism Fellowship is a Bible-centred organisation, whose purpose is:

  • To evangelise boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ
  • To edify (disciple) them in the Word of God
  • To establish them in a local church

We endeavour to do this through our various ministries to children and young people.

CEF is an interdenominational, international organisation working in over 190 countries around the world. Our passion is to teach the Bible to children in a fun and relevant way!

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF)

AVIATION

You'll find MAF in the hardest-to-reach locations, where people live isolated from the rest of the world, cut off from the most basic necessities. Our highly trained pilots maneuver Cessna and KODIAK aircraft through rugged terrain. And while passengers might hold their breath, MAF pilots skillfully land at short, unimproved airstrips on the sides of mountains, in jungle clearings, or on tropical rivers—to bring medicine and doctors, disaster relief, education, evangelists, Bible translators, food supplies, agriculture and clean water projects, and more. Why do we do it? Because we’re passionate about sharing Christ's love beyond where the road ends.

SYRIA

Christians in the Middle East are in desperate need of hope.

War and severe persecution threaten their very survival. Many have fled their homes to escape Islamic extremists intent on destroying the church. But many courageous Christians have chosen to stay. They want to shine in the darkness with the light of Christ, now and in the future. They believe they have a vital role to play in rebuilding their shattered societies.

We asked church leaders and Christians from Syria and Iraq what would give them hope. They highlighted three things: equality, dignity and responsibility.
